Enjoy the tranquillity of Cwrt-y-Gaer, site of an ancient hilltop fort with 22 acres of peaceful woods and meadows, plus pure soft air to soothe you.

Three well equipped self catering units in converted old stone buildings of Welsh Longhouse, including Byre Cottage which is specially designed for the wheelchair user. (see Access Statement on the page for each unit) Many places of interest in the Vale of Usk and the Wye Valley.

You are spoilt for choice with so many attractions a short drive away. Each unit has a wealth of pamphlets for your information Magnificent Tintern Abbey sits beside the River Wye. Splendid castles in the area include Raglan, Chepstow, Caldicot, Caerphilly, Penhow and Cardiff, while the extravaganza of Castel Coch is within easy reach. A profusion of museums cover Rural life, Nelson, National Waterways - even Buttons! The Birds of Prey Centre, various farm parks and the Forest of Dean will appeal to nature lovers, while the railways, ancient iron workings and mines will absorb those interested in industry. Golf, riding, karting and canoeing are all available in the area. There is an excellent choice of food in the pubs and restaurants. Many visitors enjoy walking in the woods around Cwrt-y-Gaer and on the many well-signed footpaths in the area, as well as in the forestry land or beside the Rivers Wye and Usk, or in the Welsh Mountains.

Cwrt -y Gaer is the perfect holiday spot; whether you wish to rest or roam. You are very welcome to bring well behaved pets. (at no extra cost). There is some dog agility equipment for your use.

All units have Digital TV with integral DVD player, radio/cassette and CD player and night storage heaters (there is no extra charge for electricity), and all linen including towels is included at no extra cost. The shared utility room has a washing machine, tumble drier and ironing facilities. Table tennis, snooker and darts are available in the adjacent barn. A cot is available if needed.
